In addition, according to the US Census Bureau, the two lowest income quartiles reflected the highest dropout rates in 2007. In the Los Angeles Unified Public School District (LAUSD), which primarily serves Black and Hispanic lower-income families, the dropout rates are higher than both the state and national averages.
